Welby W. Bigelow, Sr., M.D., age 88, died January 20, 1991, in a Walnut Creek, California hospital.
Born October 6, 1902 to Moses W. Bigelow, M.D. and Ruby Jenette Gammon Bigelow. Graduate of University of Utah and University of Louisville, Kentucky school of medicine. He served a three year LDS mission to Germany, 1922-25. A resident of Silverado County Club, Napa, California for 17 years. Moved to Rossmoor in Walnut Creek, seven years prior to death. Employed 13 years in the Utah State Health Department and served a short time as acting State Health Department and served a short time as acting State Health Commissioner of Utah. He then joined the U.S. Public Health Service where he was transferred frequently. Retired in 1966 and moved to California.Survivors, wife, Alice W. Bigelow, Walnut Creek, California; three sons, Welby W. Jr. M.D. and Barbara Bigelow, Walnut Creek, California; David O. and Jean Bigelow, Bountiful; Grant W. and Barbara Bigelow, Gresham, Oregon; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; half-brother, Perry Bigelow, Provo; three half-sisters, Amy B. Gasser, Bountiful; Lois and Donna Bigelow, Salt Lake City.
Funeral Service Saturday, January 26th, 2 p.m., at Walnut Creek LDS Ward Chapel. Memorial Service 11 a.m., Monday, January 28th, Bountiful 9th Ward, 585 East Center St. Burial: Brigham City Cemetery.
