Rocky is challenged by severe mental retardation, a seizure disorder, autism and a past of neglect. His social worker thinks he is making good progress in learning self-help skills, such as basic hygiene. He doesn't talk, but with continued special education, his social worker feels he may learn some language. He is somewhat self-abusive and throws tantrums when he is frustrated. He has been in two specialized foster homes and seems to have no problem forming relationships with adults. He has more difficulty relating to children his own age.

A two-parent family with no other children would be preferred to meet his ongoing needs for love and affection as well as assuring that he gets the special educational services that he needs to reach his full potential. An adoption subsidy may be available.
