The Spring Works, 976 W. 850 South, a company that produces all types of springs for products ranging from computers to snowplows, has added 5,000 square feet of space to its Woods Cross facility.

As part of the expansion, The Spring Works has purchased automatic spring-coiling equipment and equipment that will be used to produce truck suspension components, according to Ken Sweatfield, president and general manager. Between six and 12 employees will be hired in the coming months as part of the expansion.Funding for the $280,000 project was provided by Deseret Certified Development Co., the authorized distributor of the Small Business Administration 504 loan funds. Utah Bank & Trust was the private lender.

Dave Minear designed the extension, which was built by Tom Stuart Construction Co.
