A nurse undergoing treatment for drug addiction has had her license revoked for misusing narcotics and taking patients' medication for her own use, an order said.

Janice E. Huddleston was on a three-year licensing probation for a previous case of unlawful use of drugs, the order said, when she again misappropriated narcotics on the job for personal use several times last year. She entered into a drug rehabilitation program last November at Highland Ridge Hospital.

"Nevertheless, her misconduct is seriously disturbing because it reflects either a continued inability or unwillingness to comply with those statutes and rules which govern her licensure," the State Board of Nursing said in its recommendation to revoke Huddleston's license.

The recommendation was approved Jan. 17 by David E. Robinson, director of the state Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.
