Baltimore provides the best child care of any city in the United States, according to findings released by Working Mother magazine.
A panel of four experts assembled by the magazine picked 15 cities considered to provide the most comprehensive and innovative child-care services in the country.In second place was was Irvine, Calif., followed by Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Seattle.
The rest of the top 15 were Boston, Charlotte, Denver, Fort Worth, Honolulu, Houston, Independence, Mo., Miami, Sacramento, and Washington, D.C. The results were announced Thursday.
Baltimore was cited for opening five or six new child-care centers and licensing nine new family day-care providers each month, and boosting the number of school-age programs from 50 to 89 in less than two years.
