Members of Orem's Human Relations Advisory Commission want to show the world that diversity is the best part of its community.
The commission, with the University Mall, is sponsoring Orem's first Human Awareness Fair to help residents see the different talents and cultures that are represented in the community.The fair will begin tonight at 7 in the Orem City Council chambers where Mayor S. Blaine Willes will introduce the week's events and Chin Hai, who was a demonstrator in China at Tiananmen Square.
Thursday, Jan. 24, through Saturday, Jan. 26, there will be booths, exhibits and entertainment in the University Mall.
On Thursday Clay Jenkinson and Don Hickey will meet at 7 p.m. in the University Mall in the characters of Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton, respectively, to debate the Bill of Rights.
Finally, on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the mall, the Utah Polynesian Choir will perform to promote ethnic and traditional awareness.
