The Valley Center Playhouse, 780 N. 2nd East, recently held its second annual "Awards Night," honoring cast members, crews and directors who had participated in the theater's 1990 season.

Owners Keith and Jody Renstrom presented 22 awards. They were:Best make-up and hair: The cast of "Hotel Frankenstein."

Best costume design: Donna Fugal for "The Cruise of Love."

Best set design: "Cruise of Love" and "Hotel Frankenstein."

Best lighting and sound: Stephen Johnson for "Time After Time."

Best child actress: Megan Germane for "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever."

Best child actor: Chad Robertson for "Hotel Frankenstein."

Best child supporting actress: Britney Duncan for "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever."

Best youth character actress: Mindy Berry for "Time After Time."

Best youth actress: Rebecca Pace for "Time After Time."

Best youth actor: Mike Renstrom for "Time After Time."

Best senior character actress: Vonda Gurney for "Time After Time."

Best senior character actor: Martin Gurney for "Time After Time."

Best character actor: Harvey Taylor for "Cinderella."

Best character actress: Julie Renstrom for "Hotel Frankenstein" and Rosemary Samudio for "Cruise of Love" (tie).

Best supporting actor: Mark Stockwell for "Hotel Frankenstein."

Best supporting actress: Nola Smith for "Dear Ruth."

Best actress: Ta Shera Lindsay for "Dear Ruth."

Best actor: Harvey Taylor for "Cruise of Love."

Best director: Jon Carter for "Time After Time."

Best play: "Time After Time," written by Jody Renstrom.
