Our beloved, kind and patient father, grandpa, brother and friend, Elroy A. Michaelsen, passed away on January 17, 1991 at his home.

He was born November 20, 1912 in Mayfield, Utah to Leonard Leroy and Hazel Jeanette Childs Michaelsen. On November 18, 1935, he married Juanita Nielsen in Elsinore, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple February 17, 1956. She preceded him in death on June 22, 1984.Elroy lived in Lark for many years where he and his wife owned and operated the Lark Confectionery and Service Station while he also worked in the U.S. Mine. He later moved his family to Midvale. He was an active member and High Priest in the LDS Church and served in many positions throughout his lifetime. A very devoted home teacher, he was also active in the Scouting program. He loved the outdoors and treasured the many times spent with family and friends camping and hunting, and especially enjoyed his cabin on Marysvale Mountain. He enjoyed working in his yard, shaping it into a thing of beauty with his talented "green thumb" that everyone admired and envied. He gave generously of his time, energy and skills to help others, especially his family and neighbors. His children and grandchildren were the joy in his life. He will be greatly missed by us all.

Survived by three sons and one daughter, Royal and Carol, South Jordan; Dick and Janice, West Jordan; Brent, West Jordan; AnnaVon and Ted Thornton, Midvale; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; brother and sisters, Garth Michaelsen and LaVern Poulson, both Richfield; Julia Barney, Annabelle. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald; brothers, Coy and Mark.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 1991, at 11:00 A.M. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, 8090 South State, where friends may call Sunday 6-8 P.M. and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Elsinore Cemetery, Elsinore, Utah.
