A job-training course that includes job-placement assistance for those who complete the course is being offered at the Davis Applied Technology Center.
A training program called the "employee resource pool" has been developed to teach basic skills to workers seeking entry-level jobs in Davis and Morgan counties.Several large companies are locating in the area and it is expected those companies will hire many employees who complete the preparation course, technology center officials said.
Classes taught during the course will be math, work success, computer literacy, critical thinking and problem solving. The course begins Feb. 4 and ends March 29. Applicants must be at least 18 and read at an eighth-grade level.
