The Utah Senate has confirmed a number of appointments made by Gov. Norm Bangerter. They include:

Heather Nelson Cook appointed to the Board of Pardons; Melvin C. Clark appointed to the Psychiatric Security Review Board; James L. Shumate appointed to the 5th Circuit Court; Douglas Palmer appointed to the Substance Abuse Coordinating Council.Alice Shearer appointed as executive director of the Department of Administrative Services; William Willson appointed to the Comprehensive Health Insurance Pool Board; Allen C. Barbieri appointed to the Securities Advisory Board; Inez Burke and Geneal Anderson appointed to the Board of Indian Affairs.

Peter Goss appointed to the State Board of History; Justin Anderson appointed to the Board of Business and Economic Development; Korla Woods appointed to the Utah Sports Authority; and Karen R. Brown appointed to the State Library Board.

Also, Russell Greathouse and Walter Wright appointed to the Board of State Lands and Forestry; Larry Ross appointed to the Board of Water Resources; John A. Bohling appointed to the Salt Lake Community College Institutional Council; and Chuck Davis and Jonnie Wilkinson appointed to the Rural Physicians Financial Assistance Committee.

Leroy H. Wullstein and Kay S. Jensen are appointed to the Committee on Water Pollution Control; James C. Sutteer and William D. Lambert appointed to the Health Facilities Committee.

Appointed to the Passenger Tramway Safety Board are Kent Matthews, Phil Jones, Brent Beck, Arnold Adams, Susan Giannettino and John S. Bonnett.

Finally, Marjean Clawson is appointed to the Board of Family Services and Delores Ottley is appointed to the Board of Mental Health.
