President Bush believes the Persian Gulf war shouldn't disrupt the NFL playoffs because "the business of the nation has to continue," his spokesman said Saturday.

"Our attitude is that the business of the nation has to continue and should continue, and we are conducting this war with a high degree of public support," White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater said. "We don't see any need why people should disrupt their lives any more than necessary. The president's attitude is that . . . the games should go on."
