Student leaders at Southern Utah University have unanimously passed a resolution supporting President Bush's actions in the Persian Gulf war.
The action was taken during a special SUU Students Association senate meeting. With demonstrations against the war taking place on many campuses across the country, the senate wanted to make it clear that, at least at SUU, the majority of students support Bush's decision to use military force against Iraq, said Paul Spiers, one of the student senators.Although some students on campus have hung anti-war banners and are planning demonstrations, Spiers said the number of active protesters was "maybe 10 or 20."
When asked if SUU students support Bush, SUUSA Ombudsman Julie Slade said, "I think the majority do. I think the majority of the nation does - especially (support for) the troops."
