Petra Kronberger of Austria reached the midpoint of the women's World Cup season with a huge lead in the overall competition by completing a weekend sweep with a victory in the Super G on Saturday.
It was the third consecutive victory and seventh in 14 races for Kronberger, who won the downhill Friday. She has 276 points in 16 events as she bids to win the overall title for a second straight year. France's Carol Merle is second with 92 points.The Austrians competed after learning of the death of Austrian male skier Gernot Reinstadler at Wengen, Switzerland. Reinstadler died of injuries after falling Friday during a qualifying run.
