Verda W. Pyper, 93, died Wednesday January 16, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born March 14, 1897 in Coalville, Utah to William James and Hannah Pyrah Wright. Married Harold Johnson Pyper, March 22, 1918 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in 1977.Active member of the LDS Church having served as Relief Society president in the Ivins and Wilson wards for 12 years, and as a temple worker for 16 years. Member of the Salt Lake Garden Club.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Arthur M. (Helen) Spencer, Kirkland, Washington; Mrs. William H. (Eileen) Thompson, Mrs. Leonard O. (Nida Jean) Thayer, and Mrs. Eldon R. (Phyllis) Smart, all of Salt Lake City; 22 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nida Coy, Tacoma, Washington. Preceded in death by a daughter, Naomi Carol; three sisters and seven brothers.
Funeral services, Saturday January 19, 1 p.m. at the Wilson Ward (Whittier Ward Chapel), 1550 South 200 East. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Friday 6-8 p.m., and at the ward Saturday, one hour prior to the services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
