Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Alphus "Al" Pierce, passed away January 16, 1991 at his home.

Born April 15, 1906 in Fayette, Utah to George Washington Pierce and Sarah Bingham Pierce. Married Ethel Mellor September 8, 1924, marriage later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple; later divorced. Married Lamecia Hiatt, she died 1955. Married Lillian Stucki Nelson May 21, 1955. Worked for Telluride Power Company for 20 years. Worked for American Oil for 22 years. Loved making and repairing antique clocks. Loved traveling all over the United States, Canada, Alaska and Hawaii. He was a High Priest in the East Riverside Ward.Survivors are wife, Lillian, Salt Lake City; daughters, Melba Morgan, Norma Malone, and Elaine Malone, all of Salt Lake City; Ida Cockrell, Winchester, California; Afton Richard, Eager, Arizona; stepsons, Roy Hymas, and Larry Nelson, both of Salt Lake City; 32 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 19, at 1 p.m. at MacKay Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, where friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Burial, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
