An Egyptian whose parents told him to turn down the volume on a radio he was listening to for news about the war flew into a rage and battered them to death, Cairo Radio reported Saturday.

Adel Ahmed Abu Al Hajaj, 24, began beating his mother and father "when they asked him to turn down the radio while he was listening to the latest developments in the war in the gulf," the state-owned radio said."The father died at home and the mother died after being taken to the hospital," it added.
