Utah County commissioners are expected to approve members of the new Utah County Historic Preservation Commission at next Wednesday's commission meeting.

Commissioners this week reviewed five nominations for the board and reviewed a certification agreement that the commission would be required to follow. The five nominees are Joel C. Janetski, director of Brigham Young University's Museum of Peoples and Cultures; John Child, Orem High School principal; H. Val Killian, interior designer; C. LaVar Rockwood, former vice president of community services at Utah Valley Community College; and Dale L. Berge, BYU anthropology professor.

Under the certified agreement, the commission would have to enforce state and local preservation laws, maintain an inventory and survey system of historic properties and provide adequate public participation.
