The International Olympic Committee's commission arrived today to inspect Japan's facilities as a candidate for the 1998 Winter Olympics.

The eight-member commission, led by General Niels Holst Sorensen of Denmark, will confer with Gov. Goro Yoshimura of Nagano prefecture (state) in central Japan during their stay through Sunday.The commission will inspect ski facilities at Yakebi Hill, Higashi-Tateyama and Happo-one, outside Nagano city, during their stay, according to Japanese officials.

Nagano is one of six cities bidding for the Games along with Salt Lake City; Ostersund, Sweden; Soci in the Soviet Union; Valle d'Aosta, Italy; Jaca, Spain.
