James Earle Arnold, 77, passed away at his home Tuesday, January 15, 1991 of heart failure.

Born September 25, 1913, in Sugar City, Idaho to Leland Joseph and Gladys Gaddie Arnold. Married June 16, 1939, in the Manti LDS Temple to Beth Madsen. A lifetime member of the LDS Church, serving in positions of bishop, High Councilman, Sunday School superintendent and clerk. Lifetime career with the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company as plant superintendent, Garland, Utah and engineer.He is survived by: his wife, Beth; son, James B. Arnold and wife, Anne, Brevard, North Carolina; daughter, Earlene Smith and husband, Douglas, Rexburg, Idaho; and son, Robert M. Arnold and wife, Rebecca, Vandenberg AFB, Calif.; sister, Margorie Tate; stepmother, Roberta Arnold; stepbrother, Roger Arnold; stepsister, Patsy Perry; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 11 a.m., Salt Lake Colonial Hills 1st Ward, 1455 South 1700 East, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Manti City Cemetery, Manti, Utah. Funeral service conducted by Bishop Geffrey Shields.
