Students who will graduate from high school this year are eligible to apply for internships at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. Five-week internships will be awarded to 40 students.
Applicants must specify a preference for biology, journalism, photography, history, veterinary science, art, carpentry, library science or computer science. Interns are given $550 for living expenses and tour many sites not usually visited by Washington, D.C., tourists.Sessions are June 9 through July 13 and July 14 through Aug. 17.
To request an application, write Intern '91, Office of Elementary and Secondary Education, Arts and Industries Building, Room 1163, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. 20560, by March 8. Completed applications must be received by March 15.
