A new building to house the Central Health Department will be built in Richfield with funding from a $325,000 interest-free loan from the Utah Community Impact Board.

The money was borrowed by Sevier County on a "pass-through" agreement. The county will work with the CIB and make the payments on the 25-year loan, but the health department will make payments to Sevier County. The department's payback will be about the same amount as it is paying in rent, but the department will own a building.Health Department officials have been negotiating with Richfield City for property on which to locate the new building, but a site has not been selected. The current offices are at 201 E. 500 North in Richfield.
