Residents interested in participating in the city's budgetmaking process are being invited to apply for membership on the West Jordan Citizen Budget Advisory Committee.
The committee will be comprised of 28 members who will review the city budget during March - meeting once or twice a week. The panel will submit comments and recommendations to the City Council in April.To facilitate the review, the committee will be divided into four subcommittees: General Government and Revenues; Development Services and Capital Projects; Public Safety; and Public Works.
The advisory group has played a role in West Jordan's budgetary process since 1987 and has been credited with recommendations that have led to improved services and cost-saving measures.
Anyone wishing to serve on the committee may submit a letter of interest to City Recorder Rori Andreason by Tuesday, Feb. 5. Appointments will be announced in February.
