The Sky View Bobcats claimed their eighth straight victory - including a perfect four-for-four in Region 5 play - with a 69-57 win over Logan in prep basketball action Wednesday.
The Bobcats, ranked second in this week's 3A Deseret News Coaches Poll, improved their overall record to 11-1 at the expense of the Logan Grizzlies, whose win last weekend over Bear River had snapped a six-loss skid. The Grizzlies drop to records of 1-3 in the region and 2-10 overall.Sky View jumped out early, leading Logan 19-8 after the first period and 37-22 at halftime. That margin allowed for a lapse of sorts by the Bobcats, who were outscored 19-8 in the third period by the Grizzlies as the visitors drew to within 45-41. However, Sky View rebounded with a 24-point fourth quarter for the 12-point winning margin.
The Bobcats' John Roe led all players with 27 points, while teammates Scott Jackson and Shane Mecham added 17 and 15 points, respectively. Greg Raymond finished with 17 for Logan.
