A few spaces are still available on a Colorado River float trip through Grand Canyon scheduled in March, according to Steven Heath, associate professor of physical sciences at Southern Utah University.
A number of people were unable to take part in a similar trip in August of 1990 and requested a second trip, Heath said. The river journey will be conducted by Adventures West, and Heath and Richard Kennedy will accompany the party to provide instruction and information on the history and geology of the Colorado River and Grand Canyon.
The expedition will leave Lee's Ferry, Mile 0, on March 18 and conclude March 23 at Whitmore Wash, Mile 187, below Lava Falls. There, the party members will be flown by helicopter to Bar 10 Ranch before returning to Cedar City.
Total cost of the trip, including meals, is $995. For reservations and further information, contact Heath at 586-7902 (work) or 586-9334 (evenings).
