The Provo City Council will meet less frequently in the year ahead, with a council meeting scheduled about every other week.

The council has been meeting every Tuesday night, barring unusual circumstances. City Council meetings will remain on Tuesday night in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 351 W. Center St., but will be interspersed with special meetings and nights off.Council Chairman Steve Clark presented the new schedule to the council Tuesday night. It was adopted unanimously.

As part of the new schedule, the City Council will have neighborhood meetings in all four sections of the city. The Tuesday night slot will also be used for committee meetings and emergency meetings.
