Alec Baldwin will again star as the CIA's Jack Ryan, a character he originated in "The Hunt for Red October," in two new movie adaptations of author Tom Clancy's best-sellers.

The films are "Patriot Games" and "Clear and Present Danger."The new films were prompted by the success of "The Hunt for Red October" - starring Sean Connery - which grossed more than $120 million in the United States and Canada to become the fifth highest-grossing film of 1990.
