F. Marian Bishop, chairwoman of the department of family and preventive medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine, has received the 1990 U.S. Public Health Service Director's Award.
The award honors exemplary service to the National Health Service Corps. Bishop has been a member of the National Advisory Council to the corps since 1987.Bishop was selected 1990 educator of the year by the Association of Teachers of Preventive Medicine. She is a member of Rotary International, the Utah Women's Forum and the Cancer Information Service of Utah advisory committee. She has participated in the work of the National Board of Medical Examiners since 1975 and is a member of that group's executive board.
