Thanks to the generosity of the Bonneville Club of Telephone Pioneers, a 17-year-old Utah girl is much more independent.

The service club purchased a "Universal Support Arm" for Lia Hailes' wheelchair. Lia is a spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy patient receiving therapy at Primary Children's Cottonwood Rehabilitation Center.Lia is confined to a wheelchair and could not afford the $250 piece of equipment. The "arm" holds umbrellas, cameras, binoculars, mirrors, books, trays.

The Telephone Pioneers is a service group consisting of retired and current employees of AT&T and US WEST Communications.

Fred Weise, president, said, "The smile when they receive the donation makes it all worthwhile."
