Kenneth R. Asby, president of the Utah Farm Bureau Federation, was elected to the board of directors of the American Farm Bureau Federation during its annual meeting in Phoenix.

Ashby, a Delta farmer, will represent the national federation's western region, which interprets the organization's policy and operating procedures. The western region is comprised of the farm bureaus of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.A lifelong member of the Utah Farm Bureau Federation, Ashby has served as its president for the past four years. He previously served on the statewide organization's board of directors representing the state's southwest region.

Ashby raises alfalfa hay and small grains on his Millard County farm. He and his wife, DeAnn, are the parents of five children.
