A reopening celebration for the South Salt Lake Library is scheduled Wednesday, Jan. 24, at noon.
The library has relocated to 220 E. Morris Avenue just south of I-80 and east of State Street.The new site can be accessed from State Street on either Morris Avenue or Oakland Avenue. Access from 300 East is possible on Morris Avenue. The new facilities are in the Boyer office building which is also the new home of South Salt Lake city offices.
The library was forced to move from its home of 36 years at 2480 S. State in December when South Salt Lake, which owned the building, sold it to FHP to become part of a large medical complex.
The library is part of the Salt Lake County Library System and is a full-service branch with access to all materials in the county system. It will continue to feature popular reading materials for all ages while emphasizing business and community service. A periodical area, quiet study room and special children's area are included in the new facility.
Operating hours will be Monday, noon to 9 p.m.; Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
