Samuel Grandison Raymond, age 83, passed away Friday, January 11, 1991 at his home.

Born October 27, 1907 in Kaysville, Utah, a son of Grandison and Mary B. Rushforth Raymond Jr. Married Mildred Ruth Anderson, October 17, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was active in farming in his younger years, he had been a horticulturist, owned and operated his own orchard, grew his own root stock. Was a bus driver for many years for the Davis County School District. He was a life long resident of the Kaysville, Fruit Heights area. He was a graduate of Davis High school, where he was President of the Senior Class of 1927. He attended Utah State University, in Logan. Active member of the Fruit Heights 3rd LDS Ward, he served as the YMMIA President, Elders Quorum President, member of the Presidency of the 55th Quorum of Seventies, Counselor in the Kaysville 5th LDS Ward Bishopric, Bishop of the Kaysville 9th LDS Ward, served at High Priest Group Leader, served a mission to Eastern Canada. He had served a stake mission with his wife as his companion, in the Davis Stake. Active Temple worker. President and Mayor of Fruit Heights City for 19 years. President and member of the Board of Directors for the Davis Farm Co-Op. Member of the Board of Directors of the HEIGHTS Irrigation Company. Member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Utah State University.Survived by wife, of Fruit Heights; two sons, one daughter, Farrel Gene and wife, Verla Raymond, of Fruit Heights; Floyd A. and wife, Joyce Raymond, of Wilmington, Delaware; Barbara R. and husband, Ted Spendlove, Fruit Heights; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services Wednesday, 1 p.m. in the Fruit Heights Stake Center, 170 North Mountain Rd. Friends may call at the Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. and on Wednesday at the stake center 11:45-12:45. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
