Christopher Rouse, composer-in-residence with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and an instructor at the Eastman School of Music, will lecture at Brigham Young University on Thursday, Jan. 17.

His address, "The Composer's View of Music," will begin at 11 a.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.Rouse attended the Oberlin Conservatory and Cornell University. Besides his Baltimore appointment, he has written works for the Philadelphia Orchestra, the St. Louis Symphony, the Houston Symphony, the Rochester Philharmonic, the Cleveland Quartet and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.
