"The Challenge of the '90s," a lecture by Pritjof Capra, founder and president of the Elmwood Institute, an international ecological think tank, will be offered free to the public Friday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Newman Center, 1300 E. 200 South.

Capra's lecture will focus on this decade as a critical period for the survival of humanity and the planet, and is being held in conjunction with the showing of a movie Capra co-wrote, "Mindwalk," at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City on Jan. 20 and Jan. 23.The lecture is sponsored by Rainforest Action Group of Utah, a non-profit organization.
