Exiled leaders of a coalition of leftist Honduran guerrillas Saturday laid down their arms and returned home after the government pledged they would not be harmed.

Four leaders of the National United Directive (DNU) were received by President Rafael Callejas at a ceremony in Tegucigalpa after up to 10 years in exile in Nicaragua.Callejas' conservative government called last month for some 100 leftist guerrillas living in Nicaragua and Cuba to return home.
