Del Taco of Provo, the second Del Taco restaurant in Utah, opened its doors to the public Wednesday.

Del Taco is classified as a fast-food Mexican restaurant, but franchisee Bill Horman said he likes to think of the restaurant as "a cut above the rest that are out there."At a VIP and crew party Tuesday, Horman said Del Taco is unique because of its salsa bar, which allows customers to dress their food the way they like.

He said Del Taco is the only restaurant in the state to feature a "choco taco." Sound gross? Actually it's not too bad for dessert. It's a waffle cone shaped like a taco, filled with ice cream and covered in milk chocolate and nuts.

The new Del Taco, 2230 N. 388 West, has brought 50 new jobs to Provo.

Horman said most Del Tacos are in the southern and southeastern regions of the United States. Utah's other Del Taco is in St. George.
