Utah consumers can obtain a shopper's guide to long-term care insurance released by the Utah State Insurance Department.
The guide, developed by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, is designed for people who wonder if they need to buy long-term care policies.For some, long-term insurance is affordable. For others, the cost is too high or benefits may not be suitable.
The state insurance department is submitting a bill to the 1991 Legislature to provide definitions, guidelines and consumer protection for long-time insurance coverage.
