Bud Scruggs, point person for Governor Norm Bangerter's legislative agenda, will be the featured speaker at the monthly Utah Policy Forum, Thursday, January 17.
The 8 p.m. breakfast forum in the governor's board room at the State Capitol is free and open to the public. The monthly meetings are sponsored by the Institute of Political Economy at Utah State University.One of the purposes of the institute is to challenge conventional wisdom, according to director Randy Simmons. In the past, the institute has looked at the 55 mph speed limit, ivory trade, pollution laws, public transportation, public education and abortion.
Scruggs, chief of staff for Governor Bangerter, is known for his sense of humor and his no-nonsense stand on the issues. He will talk about the current session of the Utah Legislature.
