Nearly 4.8 million people passed through the gates at Temple Square during the past year, surpassing 1989 totals by more than 10 percent.

Temple Square continues to be the most frequently visited center in Utah and ranks high among tourist attractions throughout the United States.The 4,788,278 visitor count is the highest in the history of Temple Square, according to Director Ralph O. Bradley.

During December, when holiday concerts, recitals and Christmas light displays brightened the area, nearly 596,000 people visited Temple Square. That was an increase of 11,252 visitors over December 1989.
