The host San Diego Gulls scored three goals in the third period to break a five-game losing streak and hand the Salt Lake Golden Eagles a 7-3 loss in IHL action Friday night.

The Golden Eagles fell behind 3-1 in the first period, as San Diego's Mike Sullivan scored two goals himself. Salt Lake's Marc Bureau scored his 26th goal of the year on a power play late in the opening period, and Rich Chernomaz added his 16th of the year midway in the second, as the Eagles closed to within 4-2.Both Paul Kruse and Todd Harkins hit the post on shots in the second period, and Darryl Olsen's power-play goal was Salt Lake's only score in the third period.
