The United States has agreed to turn over four small facilities to the Philippines but is continuing talks to keep the sprawling Clark Air Base and Subic Bay Naval Station at the expiration in September of its basing rights, officials said Friday.

Philippine spokesman Rafael Alunan told reporters on the third day of the fourth round of talks on the future of the facilities the Philippine Air Force will take over Wallace Air Station in the northern province of La Union beginning Sept. 17."The Philippines shall then assume responsibility for air defense, with the PAF controlling the radar equipment at Wallace," he said.
