Utah's vocational rehabilitation program served more people per 100,000 population than any in the country during the past year.

The 1990 statistics show the Utah office served 19,251 individuals, placing 3,099 in jobs. Seventy percent of those placed were severely disabled, said State Schools Superintendent Jay B. Taggart. The rehabilitation services function under the Office of Education.Taggart complimented Judy Ann Buffmire, director of vocational rehabilitation services, and her staff for outstanding work.
