Two children, 8 and 10, and their mother were able to celebrate the holidays this year because of help from homeless men at Northwest Passage. The men initiated the effort to help someone less fortunate than themselves.

Residents and staff made weekly contributions to provide winter clothes, toys and gifts for the mother. The group also sent Christmas dinner with enough for other meals, as well.Northwest Passage is a facility for homeless men with alcohol-related problems. Many have no contact with their own families, so the tradition of providing Christmas for needy children is cherished.
