Reed Neff Brown, age 73, died January 8, 1991 in a Salt Lake hospital of a sudden heart attack.
He was born February 24, 1917 in Highland Park, Utah to Enoch and Anne Loretta Neff Brown. On June 2, 1948, he married Grace Caldwell in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Reed was a Veteran of World War II, serving five years in the Army. His activities in the Church included, Bishop, Stake President, Patriarch and Sealer in the Jordan River LDS Temple. He served a mission with his wife, Grace, in the England London Mission. Employed by the U. S. Postal Service for 28 years, he retired as Postmaster of the Sandy Post Office. Member SUP, Temple Quarry Chapter. His life was characterized by his willing service to others and his devotion to the Church.Survivors: wife, Grace; children, Steven R. Brown and wife, Jean, Midway; Mrs. Glade (Claudia) Mumford, Mrs. Charles (Annette) Weber, both South Jordan; Mark C. Brown and wife, Kristin, North Logan; Paul N. Brown and wife, Mary, Birmingham, Michigan; 17 grandchildren; brothers and sister, Frank Neff Brown, Sandy; John Neff Brown, Cottonwood Heights; Julian Neff Brown, Murray; Mrs. John (Loretta Neff) Furlong, Tobago, West Indies. Preceded in death by twin grandsons, John Marshall and Brian Neff Mumford; brother, Aldous Brown.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 1991, at 12 noon in the Sandy Utah West LDS Stake Center, 8650 South 200 East. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the stake center from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
