George Frederick Barker, age 90, died of causes incident to age on Tuesday, January 8, 1991.

He was born in Kaysville, Utah on April 18, 1900, the son John Edwin Barker and Rose Hannah Bacon. He married Lucy Steed on September 24, 1921. She died August 18, 1979. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He graduated from Davis High School. He was an excellent athlete, was captain of the football team and all-state tackle.He was employed for 45 years as shop foreman at the Inland Printing Company. He had been a member of the Kaysville City Council and a director of the Senior Citizens Association. He was a High Priest in the Kaysville 8th Ward. He was an eternal optimist, wouldn't say anything bad about anyone, loved to be with and teach children, and generously gave to people in need during difficult economics times. In retirement he enjoyed gardening and making art objects.

Surviving are one son and one daugher, Robert B. Barker and wife Glennis, Layton; Mrs. Stanley C. (Janet) Webster, Kaysville; three grandchildren, Mrs. Reed (Callene) Sorenson and Mrs. Michael (Debra) Kusuda, Layton; and David Webster, Kaysville; six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 1991 at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
