Utah County has reached an agreement with one of three landowners who filed suit against the county for failure to remove a dike built in 1983 when Utah Lake flooded farmlands in south Utah County.

The agreement was approved Monday by county commissioners. Deputy County Attorney Jeril Wilson said the agreement calls for the county to supply Dan and Karen Williams with two rolls of barbed wire, 45 metal T-posts and two cedar brace posts. The county also must erect a 16-foot-wide heavy-duty metal gate across the main road leading to the Williams' property and remove rocks left over when the dike was constructed.Wilson said the county has met all conditions of the agreement except installing the gate. The county still has two suits outstanding against it over removal of the dike.
