A Springville teenager was in serious but stable condition Thursday at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center following a four-car accident Wednesday morning at Eighth South and Main Street, Orem, according to a hospital spokesman.

Shannon R. Straw, 17, sustained severe head injuries when the car she was driving collided with another vehicle, driven by Brett L. Davis, 20, Spanish Fork. Straw's car spun and started to roll, forcing her head and shoulders out of her car window. The car continued to slide sideways, colliding with another vehicle driven by Irene J. Koontz, 51, Orem. Straw's car landed back on all four tires, pushing the Koontz car into a Jeep Wagoneer driven by Jack L. Donald-son, 49, Orem, according to Sgt. Fran Fillmore, officer at the scene.Davis, Koontz, and Donaldson did not suffer injuries. Reports indicate that Straw was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
