Utah state forester Richard P. Klason has been elected a 1990 Fellow of the Society of American Foresters. Nationwide, 57 fellows were elected in 1990 from the 19,000-member organization.

Klason, who was elected in recognition of his outstanding service to forestry, is a graduate of the University of Idaho and is a member of the Intermountain Society of American Foresters.The Society of American Foresters is a national scientific and educational organization representing all segments of the forestry profession. It includes public and private practitioners, researchers, administrators, educators, technicians and students.
