Memories will always be of a precious and beautiful mother and grandmother, Mary Marsh Higginbothum Peterson, born in Salt Lake City, January 24, 1914, to Francis D. and Geneva A. Marsh Higginbothum.

During her youth she attended schools in Salt Lake and later served an LDS mission. She worked for fifteen years as an Assessor for Salt Lake County, Motor Vehicle Dept.On January 23, 1935 she married Elmo Joseph Peterson and 17 years later, April 10, 1952, her first living child, Joyce (Peterson) Hale was born. On August 28, 1953 her second daughter, Shauna Lou Peterson was born, who later married Jerry W. Service. Her two daughters gave their mother seven grandchildren and they presently reside in Utah.

We will ever be grateful to her for her selflessness as she generously gave to those in need, acting as both a father and mother to her children. We can learn from her example as she lived for the present moment and was never without a sense of humor.

She rested from her pain on January 6, 1991, of natural causes in Salt Lake City at the age of 76. We will all miss her and if hope can grow in us, we will be blessed to see her sweet face again.
