An Ogden man has been bound over to stand trial Thursday for an Aug. 26 shooting that police described as gang-related.

Second Circuit Court Judge Brent West ordered Tyrone J. Lemons, 18, to stand trial on a charge of attempted murder. Lemons was scheduled to enter a plea to the second-degree felony charge before 2nd District Judge Stanton Taylor.Lemons is accused of shooting Pete Romero Jr. in the left side of the head with a 12-gauge shotgun. Romero was on life-support systems for several weeks before improving and being transferred to a nursing home. Officials say Romero is unable to communicate.

Lemons was 17 years old at the time of the shooting and was being held in the Millcreek Youth Center. The charge was later filed in circuit court, and Lemons will stand trial as an adult because of the severity of the crime. He was transported to the Weber County Jail last month.
