A woman who helped her husband take three people hostage in a courthouse and hold police at bay for 24 hours was found dead at the end of the standoff, and authorities ordered an autopsy in an attempt to determine who killed her.
The body of Helen Firth was found in the chambers of Judge Charles Buss in the Mesa County Courthouse Wednesday after her husband, Kevin Firth, a rape suspect, surrendered to police.
